This week we welcomed Noah Wright as our new youth pastor! He jumped right in and even served at the Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday! We wanted to take this opportunity to welcome Noah and let him introduce himself to you by sharing a little bit of his story!
I was born Nov. 29, 1999, in Salisbury, MD. During my childhood, I jumped back and forth between my mom and dad’s houses. We did this until my mom left. So, my brother and I moved into my dad and stepmom's house to live full-time in 2012. Today, my family lives on the state line between Maryland and Delaware, but we still claim Maryland as home. During this time while living with my dad, my best ever stepmom, Sara, my older brother, and my two little sisters, I began getting involved in church. Between mentorship from my youth pastor, Dave and using the parking lot as a place to skateboard, I loved spending time at church.
During my time in the student ministry, I began to feel a call to full-time student ministry as a career. This led to me going to Asbury University to pursue a bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry. Between the two sports I had the privilege of playing in college, the (very patient & gracious) mentorship I received from some of the best people anyone could meet, and the summer youth ministry internships I am grateful to have been a part of, I feel confident in this next step of full-time youth ministry!
Throughout my story, I have learned about God's faithfulness. Between feeling abandoned in 2012, the feeling of intimidation when stepping into new things like attending a new high school, moving away and starting college and now stepping into a new role at Grace Church, God's hand is incredibly obvious. Hindsight is a beautiful way to show God's faithfulness in my story. Now, if only I could go back in time and tell myself how faithful God has been, is now, and will always be.
Now for some fun stuff! Some of my favorite hobbies are playing sports! I love to play basketball, lacrosse, and golf!! I played lacrosse and golf in college, but golf was definitely my favorite. I also enjoy hiking, reading, discovering new coffee shops and both watching and doing stand-up comedy. Friendships are important to me, so I make an effort to see friends who are local and far away! I love traveling to meet them in their homes. Finally, I do have a bit of a creative side, and I enjoy creating graphic designs!
We are excited about all that the Lord will do through Noah’s leadership!
