Tafere and his family are natives of Ethopia.  Tafere had a dramatic conversion to Christ after growing up in a difficult environment and serving as a wizard's apprentice.  After witnessing an evil spirit being driven out, he bought a Bible and read the book of John.  In a dream he was given the choice of serving a dark angel or an angel in white.  He woke up shouting, "Jesus is Lord" and turned to Christ.

Tafere lives and serves in his home country of Ethiopia.  Currently, Ethiopia is a war-torn country.  In the midst of a brutal civil war, the people of Ethiopia are often in imminent danger and face famine and other hardships.  

Along with Grace missionaries, Mark + Debbie Maclachlan, Tafere helped start the 5 F's (forest, fruit and forage for farm families) agricultural project with the Awi people almost 25 years ago.  Tafere now directs this project and is expanding it to reach the local youth and schools.  Additionally, Tafere is a gifted evangelist who has a ministry with the local orthodox priests who have become open to discussing God's Word.
