not my plans but god's plans

"After retiring from nursing, I had plans for myself.  Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a man's (woman's) heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." What the Lord had planned for me is so much better! Volunteering brings a gift of life to others which in return brings life to the volunteer. I am thankful for the lives that God gives all of us!" After being nominated to be featured in Storyworthy, Virgina (Ginny) Anderson, a longtime member of Grace Church as well as a simply remarkable woman of God, shares some of her story with the Grace family.
"Assisted animal therapy is a highlight of my life, giving me the gift of getting to know people that I otherwise would have only smiled at as I walked by them. Colossians 1:16 says, "God has created all things in heaven and earth...they were created by Him and for Him". And so, He created a unique dog that we called Latte and God gave her the ability to focus on people, to enjoy people and sense their needs in uncanny ways. Latte has encouraged young children struggling to read, comforted stressed college students before exams, visited hospital rooms and even joining patients in their beds.  Latte enjoyed cheerleading at Special Pops tennis! She was often seen snuggling with residents in assisted living facilities. A really fun and special opportunity Latte had was playing Sandy in the musical "Annie"! She was a star!  Latte also modeled and participated for a school club designing a dog harness to help autistic children.

I now have a memory library filled with stories from people who were impacted by Latte. Latte was the furry focus that helped to ease their anxieties and I discovered some of God's rich deposits in individuals through the life of Latte! "

"Horses are another joy of my life that took me to the Calvin Center and the New Hope North's Equine Therapy program. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and helping children and adults with special needs relate to these gentle horses. After teaching them to groom and saddle, I guided the horses with their riders through the wooded trails and worked with them in the arena. In the past, I was also involved with Special Pops tennis (without Latte) and I have taught Pickleball to special needs adults as well as for GLOW Ministry. I love teaching Pickleball to anyone who wants to learn. In fact, I love it so much that I served on the recent Tyrone Advisory Committee that helped launch the eight new Pickleball courts in Tyrone! I also serve on the Tyrone Founders Day Committee."
